Business Ethics in the New Economy
Run time: 22 Minutes
Uncertain economic conditions. Intense competition. Globalization. Pressure to hit the numbers. Changing technologies. Increased regulatory requirements. These are just some of the challenges organizations face today. And as real as they are, these pressures do not excuse a lapse in ethics-whether it be in the area of communication, the sales process, quality, customer relations or everyday business procedures.
This training program will help learners gain an awareness of what is and is
not ethical in today's global marketplace where new types of business situations seem to arise daily.
Dr. Marianne Jennings provides guidance on proper actions to be taken, and an explanation of how there is no "grey area" in business ethics.
Dr. Jennings takes participants through an overview and shows how any lapse in ethical conduct can be detrimental to the organization. Scenarios include: dealing with increased competition, hitting the numbers in sales and profits and managing relationships with clients. Viewers also see how new technologies have impacted business practices and why waiving procedures is not acceptable. Special attention is given to the role leaders play in upholding an ethical business model that employees can adhere to.
At the conclusion of this training course, participants should have an understanding of and be better equipped to handle the following business ethics issues:
- Increased Competition
- Achieving business objectives such as sales and profits
- Dealing with business ethics issues with management
- Disregarding proper policies and procedures to increase efficiencies
- Coping with business ethics issues in technology and social media
